can anyone tell me where the d16a8 were made.

reason for asking is i have one in my 92 civic si hatch, which produced in jap. so was the d16a8 shipped from swindon uk(i presume !!??) to japan or do the jap plants make em too?? and if so are there any differences ?

cheers

I'd say Jap made given the car is stamped JHM.

Yey! another D16A8 owner.

my vin number proclaims that my si is a jap which is what i expected, but the d16a8 was also put in rover 200 in the late 80's earlier 90's. ( http://www.216turbo.com/introduction.htm )

I know that the ZC is a jap engine but the d16a8 went into euro civics, so i think that the euro had swindon (uk) made d16a8?? i might be wrong.

so what is differnet between the 2 engines ?

and what paint do i need to give my head cover a new look??

cheers

Yes - it was used in the Euro Civics etc. Our Civics were all built in Japan though. The Rover 200 is actually a 4 door first-gen Integra. It was badge engineering at it's finest even though Rover put in its 2c ;)

See here: http://www.honda.co.jp/HOT/ModelData/integra/index.html for pics of it. The first 3 generations of Integra all ran 4-door varients.

The engine we have is the Japanese ZC derivative.
