Hi folks,

The engine warning light comes on in my car after about 10 minutes driving, so I checked the ecu's diagnostic LED. The code it spat out was 23. Unfortunately the service manual I have does not list a 23, saying that if codes other than those listed appear, plug in another ecu to check if it is a faulty ecu. Has anyone heard of a code of 23? Could it be related to the B16A conversion. I didn't perform the conversion so I won't be able to provide specific details about it. Also, this is my first Honda so please excuse any noob-iness...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
Stephen

23 is knock sensor
Located under inlet manifold
Check wiring for continuity between sensor & ecu, just pull the plug off the sensor & test.
Should be a shielded wire all the way thru ie braided screen around inner core like tv cable. This shield should be continuous to the engine ground point on both sides of connecting plug in engine bay(if connector used). You could be picking up interference if the shield is not connected, sometimes happens on conversions.
Other than that, reset ecu after checking all this &test again if code still there have the sensor & ecu tested

EDit Oops ,you already got the answer

wire it to D3 on the ECU ( if you have OBDI )

Thanks for the info John. I have just noticed a parallel thread - CEL after driving 10 mins - and that seems to give some more background on the knock sensor wiring. I will check the wiring tonight.
