This is probably stupid question but, is JDM front end conversion iligal? im prety sure it isnt, just asking coz maybe if you get pulled over the cops might check that its a AUS spec and might go ohh you can do this u gota convert back or some crap like that. I wouldnt be surprised if they said that coz they say a lot of shit that dont make sence.
Oh and its for a DC2R.

Do you mean panels wise? If so, no it isnt, it'd be considered as any other bodykit (just look better)

a DC2R front end is not illegal in australia as it is in the states ..
reason being that the front reinforcement bar in the US is larger than its JDM brother.. but audm is the front..

You will have a hell of a time trying to get insurance though..
it requires modification to the front radiator support .. and they wont insure u plainly because the parts are so rare .. and cost a shitload for them to bring them into australia..

only go for jdm front end if u have been in a crash and need a new front ..
or else i wouldnt bother.. as the jdm bonnet/front end is actually heavier than the audm counterpart..

It might not be legal, cause it hasnt been crash tested etc in australia....so i dunno. Looks cool tho :)

Thanks for that guys and maybe girls :)
Im prety sure its legal, and no problems with fitting it. I dont mind if its a bit heavier, it will be one of a kind though, or one of very few in Aus.

Might wanna confirm first because there is quite a bit of modification required!

Nah Black DC2R, but with INGS body kit. So not very common.

whatta stupid question!

What an idiotic comment..

Anyway, yeah in Melbourne the front end isnt illegal. I've seen a few "non JDM" teg's driving around with it. There was a green one I saw a while back, plus Andrews one (the CW JDM DC2R).

What makes it so difficult to put one on though? I assume the mounts would be the same since its the same car? Silly idea how they did that then I guess :?

You seem sure its iligal. How is it iligal?

Given that you could get defected (ie illegal) for having a car too low, rims too big, exhaust too loud etc, its possible that it COULD be illegal IMO.

The question to be asked is "Is it legal?"

Noooo!! Reread the post dude haha.. From my understanding and what I have seen, the JDM conversion has been done on a few cars in Melbourne and when they drove past police they didnt take any notice of it.

Put it this way, if you dont need to cut any metal off the actual chassis, then there is absolutely no differance between a jetspeed bodykit, and a JDM conversion. Both are different panels being put on to another car, just one looking better than the other haha :D
