Hey guys ... my speedo has been acting weird ill be doing 60kms an it will be sittin on 40 and all of a sudden jump straight up to 60 ... very delayed..

Also the other day i gave it abit ... and now it just sits on 0 ... doesnt work and then all of a sudden jumps up to 160 when im doin 80kms ...

Did you install an aftermarket cluster face? I have one and it causes friction and needle movement problems.

Otherwise it may be a faulty dial, or possibly a faulty speed sensor (which I think is in the gearbox).

Hey dude, I got that thing happening on mine too (93 eg), like i'm driving out of my driveway at 160km/h.....apparantly.

Mines caused by my vehicle speed sensor being f***ed, so that could also apply to you. A quick way to check it is to look at whether or not your odometer (spelling?) starts playing up while your speedo is going nutz as they both get their readings from the VSS. Easiest way is to check if it stops ticking over when ur speedo decides to register 0km/h.

If it is ur VSS then you're in luck coz its not overly expensive to fix, especially if u buy the sensor and swap it in urself, or if u have a mate that can do it for you.

If it isn't ur VSS then don't listen to me ;)

sounds similar to the problem i use to have
the speedo needle would just jump erratically and the temp needle too (freaked me out)

all it was, was the ground wire in the engine bay on top of the gbox wasnt very good, took it off, grounded it back to make a good connection n roberts ur mothers brother problem solved

hope that helped
