yeah, just go to a professional audio installer, and they'll have antenna motors..

Do you know roughly how much it would cost ?

i have an electric antenna where it used to be a normal "pull up" one..

you can either go to honda and buy the series 2 crx delsol electric antennas, or just go to a professional audio place, purchase a universal antenna..

you can either do it yourself, or get a pro to do it.. but make sure you know what your doing before you start..

15-20 minutes? I assume providing the power and trigger wires are there or do you magically run them from the front to the back (or where ever the antenna is) in 20mins max. also fit the antenna?

that sounds like a stratties install, more to antennas than people assume im afraid...

speaking about car antennas..

do car antennas share the same wire colours ? i want to know what colour the power wire is..

this is because i want to make a switch for the power, so the antenna doesn't go up all the time..

btw, my power to the antenna isn't connected to the headunit, it's connected to the ACC (dodgy job i know)

no the antenna trigger cable is a different colour in all hondas, bloody japs never kept the same colour going on their OEM looms, but off your deck its the blue wire or in the case of pioneer (slack asses) they only have one and its blue/white stripe.

nah.. they did a dodgy job, and the trigger cable is connected to the ACC rather than the head unit..

OEM head unit?

tRipitaka

yep.. OEM..

unless.. is the antenna supposed to go up automatically in ACC with the OEM headunit turned OFF ?

the store that installed the antenna didnt bother to find the antenna trigger off the head unit?

see if there is a factory plug around where the antenna is located, there might be a trigger there. you will need to test it thou.

where are you located, there surely must be a store near you that is switched on that can do it properly?

nah, the car was like that when purchased..

do you know whether the antenna goes up when the OEM headunit is off ?

ICACHA

no it doesnt, it should come down when you put a tape in it if cassette and same for cd, it will only come up if the radio is playing...

tRipitaka

but what if it's "off" .. like the off button has been pressed

ICACHA

then the antenna should come down, its like asking if you turn the key off on your car should the engine still be running? :p

oh man..
i guess i'll have to get it rewired properly..
