Since the gallery isn't available for the time being (and ozhonda goes down the moment I start seriously considering spending money on my car :( ), I think it's fair to ask the questiion here...
Rims and offsets - I'm considering buying a set of 17" or 18"s and am curious to know what sort of offset I should be getting? catalogues don't seem to mention it, the tyre dealer I visited didn't mention it, however it's usually a question asked on here when people post pictures and whatnot.
So what offset should I get? Does it change for different rims eg if a get them with a dish? Does it change for different diameters or different widths?
And what does the actual figure refer to anyway?
Thanks :)

Hey dude, valid question. Offset is VERY important. Incorrect offset can cause inner or outer rubbing, leaglity issues so on so forth.
First, have a look at this site and play around iwth the calculator and understand what offset is. Its pretty simple actually:
http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp
Then decide what width you want. With a Euro, i would go no wider than 7.5". With that width, you would probably be looking at around +48. The more dish you want, the lower the offset you need (like the RWD turbo cars - have huge dish!) But since our cars are FWD, you will have to stick with high offsets and little dish. unelss u want extreme tyre chewing camber to tuck ur wheel under ur guard.
In terms of diameter, too large a rim would mean rubbing as well. You may hve to get a rim with suitable offset to prevent this from happening. in terms of rims, choose WISELY.
Also when buying non OEM rims, you MUST ensure you have the correct hub centric rings. Do a search on this. If not, you could bend the bolts on the wheel hub.
Anyway, its late and I'm tired so thats all i can manage for the time being.
Cheers

Thanks for the replies - SiReal that link was exactly what I wanted to know :)
So in summary, the higher the figure, the further in it will tuck under the guard?
EuroAccord13 - I get a "no matches" error on that link :(

have a look at this thread: http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10844 - it's a sticky.
scroll down to the Tyres & Rims section.
you'll also find other useful info there on euro (and other accord)
