Hey Oz Honda ppls just thought id post up some pics of my new rims, i have gone for the full chrome luxury look instead of racing and after lowering hoping it will look nice, so yeh what r ur thoughts

there a bit dirty cos i had to drive a country road today.... :(

Also i posted this in the susspension section as i hav read through all other lowering threads but have jst been confused and reckon that lowering is different to all cars depending on model and wheel tyre size etc.

i dnt know tha exact measurements of the rim but suspect they are in the product code (2054017KU712FB), Also i rather stay away from coilovers because of their expensive nature so in short it wud be gr8 to hear what ppl with d16y4 98 GLI Civics have done in owering their ride

hey dude. speaking from experiance lowering to much is not fun to drive. but hey who cares. go as low as you can handle driveing everyday. i had my coupe with 19's on all four bump stops, pain in the ass to drive but thats part of modifying. i loved having it that low. i would still have it that way but im gettin into track work n' all that jazz so back with 16's and decent sussie. u dont really need coilovers unless ur gonna track so just stick with springs and maybe some swaybars for a bang for buck.
peace

if your gonna go chromes you MUST go big! 19's,20's etc! not sure if they'd fit a civic but its part of the challenge. what you have there is ... are they 15s??

Rolled you are wrong they are as EGB16A guessed 17" was goin to go for 18" but were a bit pricey, saw another what i thought to be a civic from the back as it had been completely de-badged and cleaned off gettin the same in 18's, already lowered ridiculously meaning the had to do a bit of body work with the good ol grinder..nearly broke a part of the guys car off which turned out to be a WRX......

anyways if i was to lower and as shurman said just get a new set of springs, how much should i drop it? (i was thinking 2 - 3" maybe more at the back than tha front) and would swaybars be a must have to stop the problems i would have or would i need to roll tha guards?

ofcause u have to roll the guards if ur running 17" and planning to lower, i have 16" and it rubs like no tomorrow (when i have 205/50/16).

as for sway bar, unless you are looking for performance in cornering i wouldn't be bother.

Refresh!!!!!

just a quick question i would like to add onto this post people, for those considering lowering and did not ask what the offset of their tyres were when they got them, how do you find this out? All i know is theres a code on the tire and i know what part of the tire that says its a 17" wheel but what part gives offset

Thanku :)

measurements should be written on the side of the tyre walls.
