if you have a perfect record,

and your parked car gets hit, does it affect your no claim bonus rating at all? clearly you werent doing anything, so should it affect ?

If you can't identify who hit you and you claim I think it does... Depends on your company it may vary...

if person is identifiable. you lodge a CLAIM AGAINST them. therefor. you pay NO EXCESS fees, and damage will be catered for. your no claim bonus shall not be affected

if you cannot find person that caused the damage. and you lodge a claim , it will be on yourself. meaning. you pay excess, and no claim bonus is affected.

the reason why it will affect your no claim bonus and you pay excess is because the insurer has no one else to recover from.

You can choose to deal directly with the 3rd aprty's insurance company ( think you mentioned Marsh) or you can o through your insurer who will represent you, but they MIGHT hold the excess from you unil they recover from the 3rd aprty's insurer, and they will then re-imburse you
