205(6.5" - 7") is about the largest rubber you can fit on your car so 8" wide is way too big without mods. The rears might be ok but the fronts will scrub when you try to put it into full lock

You can fit 205 rubber on 7.5" but I think you would have scrubbing issues.
I will wait for the experts with 18-19" wheels to chime in and let you know.

I’m running 16" with 7" wide rubber. I was told by the tyre place that any bigger than 205 rubber and I would have scrubbing problems when I turn

Yep I've got 205/45/16 with +45 offset
I think they might be rubbing anyway at full lock it feels a bit spongy when I do a U-Turn. I haven’t seen any rubbing marks yet.

My car isn’t super low either 440mm eyebrow hight (centre of the wheel to the top of the guard). It’s about a 2 finger gap.

I'll wait for the people that ride dumped/have big wheels to comment on what they had to do to fit them.

I've got 17x7 on my civic with 205-40-r17 rubber and lowered it 2inches on king springs. I don't have any major dramas appart from when there are 3 or more ppl in the car (ie someone in the back). If there is someone in the back i hit the inside of the guard. The outside clears it fine and the rim can go inside the guard up to the point when it starts to rub on the inside. At the front i do occasionally scrape my inner guards (the black plastic) when the car body rolls majorly, like doing a u-turn really fast or roing around a roundabout, but that's easily fixed - take them out :). I've just been too lazy to do so. PS: i've got 42 offset on my rims.

Just stuck on some 18x7's on tonight as well.....major inner guard rubbing especially on deceleration when the front shifts forward as you brake, once again you could take the inner guards off but this is only temporary til i get my 17's back

I tired fitting a 19x8 on mine but when i lowered the car it was sitting on the actual tyres, couldn't even roll it along..... so for me at least i'd have to pump out/flare the guards to get them in. Track down Lyle (Lyle Style), he's just got some 19x7's for his civic, he will be able to fill you in more mate.

PM me the info on your rims mate, maybe we can do a deal :) (if you haven't sold them yet)
