i didnt know where to post this, so ill post it here.
one of my mates got a 1991 exi accord(with with F22 engine), anyway, so here i am with the h22a going, "yeh no worries, my car will own yours".
anyway, we didnt get the chance to race proper, more like a quick fang from 3rd gear going 60k's or so once we past a set of lights...
the accord kept up with me most of the way, in vtec i was pulling away..but not by much...we only raced for prob 5 seconds, but i was surprised that the accord kept with me...
anyone have any suggestions as to how this could happen? oh and im not a shit driver, tho i wouldnt rate myself.

well
of course if ur in 3rd gear rolling start from around 60.. your revs wouldnt be that high . prolly around 3k , and NA cars dont have torque low down like the turbo's. Ur friend has even tho an SOHC, its still 2.2 L so the torque would be not bad. he would just about keep up with u til ur vtec hits ..
by ur redline he should be a couple car lengths behind at least tho ...

for real world driving (read: legal) the F22 has a lot of mumbo. My old F22 in the lude had bags of low down torque, i used to drag my mate at teh lights and while he was sat there spinning his wheels (VS SS commo) i'd be away and plenty of space between us. He'd then have to cane the arse off his and would usually pass me at some ridiculous speed. Moron lol!
Turboing an F22 would be the best option i reckon due to the well known iron block mechanicals.
Love to teh F22, mines dead but i might make a coffee table out of the block!

used to have a F22A Auto accord... it was ugly RED too... stocker, crappy service record... but damn did that car pull... on the legal track strip... lancer 1.8 ricers and any D16 Civics were very munchable
THe F22A, in terms of pure straight line performance aint that bad... Its performance is in between D16<F22<B16
and the old 91-92 accord were light as...
btw wots this about iron block mechanicals?

the block of the F22A is iron sleeved, as opposed to the FRM sleeves in the H22A. Theyre a bit more substantial than the carbon fibre ones in the H22
