in the article
"This Accord Euro-R alternative is available in most major Honda markets in the world, being mainly marketed as the Accord Type-S (Japan, Europe, and Australia/New Zealand) and alternately as the Acura TSX in the U.S., with Asia being the major market not getting this excellent model."

is our euro the same as type s?

Euro Type S is exactly the same as the Euro Sports. Same everything except that the Type S has the option of Recaros and sat nav which are not available in the Euro Sports.

Type S has the K24A. The K20A is in the EuroR.

Yeah the 2L is designed to rev higher and produce higher optimal HP, but I imagine our 2.4L provides more torque down low, which makes casual driving a little easier requiring less effort :)

Key features of the new JDM Accord Type S

The 200ps K24A DOHC i-VTEC engine from the mainstream Accord 24TL together with a 5speed AT equipped with S-Matic manual sequential shifting override option.
The engine is the 2.4L.

That's because our engine is from the JDM Accord Wagon 4WD, not from the Accord Sedan.

It actually looks closer to a Lux with our Sports model body kit. Full leather trim (rather than sports leather inserts), Lux 17" wheels, power adjustable seats.

Any1 know the diff between their 147kw and our 140kw? How do they get the few extra ponies?

The Type S has the 1/2 leather 1/2 fabric seats exactly like the Euro Sport. Although the article says fully leathered, look at the pic. It's the 1/2 and 1/2 leather-fabric seats in there.

Also in the first pic at the top, the front spoiler has a dividing line running from the grill next to the foglight to the wheel arch, which is the same as the Euro Sport. The lux with bodykit doesn't have that line.

Enginewise, I used to think that there was a physical difference somewhere, maybe the intake or exhaust. But after Hondata's reflash, our Euro puts pretty much similar power figures to the TSX (Which has 147kW stock). So I think that the difference is in the ECU.

The K24A2 seems to be tuned to ~98RON in the states, and our K24A3 is tuned to 95RON, hence the 7kw drop. So I'm guessing the hondata flash needs 98RON to perform properly.

It would be nice if we could simply plonk in a TSX ECU into our Euro ;)
But to my understanding its not compatible for whatever reason.

No, in the US the TSX is tuned to 95 RON as well (89 PON).
