Euro Manual = ~7.7
Euro Lux Manual = 7.8
Euro Auto = 9.x

A NZ mag quotes the manual at 7.3sec

In think someone on this board done a 7.5

Yeah if you power shift, you can reach the early 7's.

A BMW Z3 and I had a 0-70 speed limit boost and I blew him away, poor fella :)

Most "official" figures, such as those quoted in Wheels are with at least 3/4 tank of fuel and 2 people on board. Lose some weight (fuel and person) and you'll run a faster time.

I did a 7.6sec for 0-100 on my RSM with 1/2 tank of fuel and VSA on.

from all this... i think it'd be safe to say a stock, non-lux euro, 6mt with 1 driver and about half a tank of fuel will do 0-100 in "around" 7.5 seconds.

There's really no way (or need) to be anymore accurate than that, especially when considering individual cars will have slightly difference performance from the factory and be subject to different running conditions.

9.x for auto's no way. Have to be in the 8's. Lancer's can run 9's 0-100 and the Euro is heaps faster and has VTEC y0 :)

Come on, I'm sure you can contribute something better than that. It's not the quality, it's light because they use less metal to cut cost and meet the $20,000 price bracket.

Isn't that what he, and you are really saying, cost cutting = quality cutting in most instances.

Not really. Car companies can do it smartly. Look at the Euro. It's only $34,000 but it is a high quality product. Once you look around the car, you'll notice parts that are not critical and not in a noticeable place use cheaper materials. I have been comparing my Euro to my dad's CD accord. His has much more high quality materials all around, but his car was much more expensive back when it was brand new. The Euro on the other hand uses cheap materials for the rubber seal at the front of the bonnet, rear boot liner fabric, the fittings that hold the non-critical tubing around the engine bay as well. Even the wheel well liner is cheaper and thinner.

nice constructive comment, pagani zonda is alot lighter as well aroudn 1200kg, and for 1.6mil i wouldnt want the quality to be shit.

If u meant its alot cheaper, than the quality of course wouldnt be up to standards to a car around twice its price.

And yes i believe the euro auto would do around a low 9.

I get what your saying, but you are also proving my point, the points you make on the Euros cost savings, dont make it inferior as a whole, but some of its parts obviously are. They are just in areas that Honda reckons they can get away with without effecting quality perception. In the end a car is just the sum of its parts, and how well they are screwed together.

Although TypeG makes a very basic statement; it is true in that instance. The Lancer is a lighter car because of cost cutting, and it effects its quality in that example (just close a Lancers door), but i cannot imagine anyone in the market for a Euro even considering a Lancer myself.
