seeing as the b18cR and the b16a have similar looking intake manifolds, if not, the same..
would a b16a intake (piping/pod) fit the b18cR ?

unlike the b18c2 where it dips down a bit to accommodate the "upside-down" IM

im pretty sure they do. they have the same sized throttle body around the outer diameter (correct me if im worng). so y not.

Not to dump shit on other people's responses... but be wary of them.

There are certain companies whos intakes differ in piping size for specific cars... which you should read as the type of B series engine.

Classic example is Injen..... from memory.....
ITR (DC2R) are 3"
The Civic Si (EM1) variant is a smaller diameter.

Something for you to consider.

yep

i'm pretty sure yonas had a b16a intake on his car which has a type R IM/ TB and it fitted exactly the same

however, didn't the dc2R have an ABS unit in the way somewhere? From memory the J's racing intake was slightly different for the dc2R because of this (i think it was only the curve of the intake near the top of the strut) On the other hand if the b18 is in another car or there is no ABS, then there shouldn't be a problem.

It is 100% fit. I saw one B16A with dc2r intake manifold and throttle body.

We know, they are both PR3 heads, but he's after an intake

so if i were to purchase a b18cR icebox/mugen intake, it'll bolt up to the eg/dc2 chassis and it'll line up properly with the b16a IM ?

the reason i'm asking this, is that with the pod/piping combination, you don't really need to bolt up to the chassis, so the lining up isn't as crucial, but for the icebox/mugen, it has to line up exactly..

what car is it for? I believe the b18c sits a CM or 2 higher than the b16a.

also any pics of the mugen/ icebox intake. I'm not 100% familiar with it?

I saw EG with dc2r air box. Not sure aftermarket intake system will fit or not.
