there is only 1 off the shelf/regrind i know of and thats a JG cam. but i think it might be discontinued. it will need to be custom..

in the end though, a good upgrade is a mini-me conversion and it come cost ui much more

a mini-me conversion is not an engine conversion. It's keep your engine and just putting on a SOHC Vtec head. Probably your best option in getting something out of your current engine.

a sohc vtec head, vtec ecu, new headgasket and some wiring. You could probably get it all done for under $1G

its easy aslong as you or your mech knows what they are doing...

visit www.d-series.org its an american site, but its got heaps of info on Mini me conversions.

I would say the pro's to doing this is, that you gain a pretty good amount of power, so its basically bang for your bucks.

I cant really think of any con's on slapping a vtec head onto a non vtec engine.

hope that helps

doing a mini me also bumps up the conpression abit... meaning more power!!! i've gone through the pain of finding an aftermarket cam for the y4... and sadly all you can do is get a place to regrind the stock cam... and then you have to get the head put together anyway!! if your gonna have it apart, may aswell do it right the first time while its off!!

if you do the mini me... crower make cams for the d16y8 head... so while its off... do it right and get a very mild port and polish (mainly the exhaust port on d-series), shaved head, cam and you'll have a nice little motor there!!

sounds like a lot of stuffing around... but it will beat getting the stock d16y4 cam worked on!!

hope this helps!!
