99 vtec integra(wat 2 do)

hey pplz my mate has a 99 vte teg, and he wants to do sumthn to the engine 4 more power, he wants it screamin of its head,

for eg. if a vl turbo rocks upto him he wants to beat it by a mile.

what shuld he do??

Budget for one item? I would suggest a engine management chip.

Budget for oodles of stuff? Man exhuast, CAI, extractors, tune, turbo etc etc etc.

Not sure if ECU will do much if there are no mods on the car....

but basics are exhaust, intake..headers.

Wants it to scream? Sounds like he wants to rev to buggery. If you want to rev to bike levels...start with internals like gears/camshaft/valves etc with ecu to tune it. This is expensive.

Best bang for buck is turbo route.

Otherwise...I/H/E are the basic mods.

and most user was being honest.... if u have unlimited $... go turbo or get a quicker car...

If he's a half decent driver he can already beat a VL turbo by a mile, depending on the VL's mods tho.

A lower final drive with a lightened flywheel should make a considerable improvement to acceleration alone.

first of all, i hope you are talking about at WSID because it is illegal to race on open roads so take it to the track where it is safe.
turbo vtec sounds absolutely awesome and ive seen them rip most other turbo cars. personally id prefer to go NA but there is no easy way for a NA honda to beat a turbo car.
if he has shitloads of money get a k20. if not get maybe look at changing some internals or atleast the cams and cam gears and a good ecu like Apexi power FC. cold air intake and good exhaust, will definately help and will scream like crazy

he can beat the VL turbo if he runs his new integra on aviation fuel.. All he has to do, is plug this magical product called the turbonator onto his intake plumbing, pour some avgas into the tank, reset the ecu and WOOO

5k would be able to get u a bolt on turbo kit, however that wont cover the cost of tuning and labour.
Tuning and application process is jst as important as buying the right gear.

But like i mentioned previously, 5k CAN get him a bolt on turbo kit, HOWEVER, labour and tuning will obviously cost more.
You want my honest opinion mate, if you only got 5k, dont bother with turbo.
Get ya usual I/H/E mods and work it that way, otherwise, SAVE MORE.
