I own a 2000 civic gli sport 4 door -->auto<-- :d16y motor twisted: , have the basic intake and 2.25inch exhaust system. What next? i am leaning towards turbo, going N/A would be pissing in the wind i reckon.

i am tired of being crapped on every single green light, i brought this car for a song, so i dont really want to sell it and grab a manual. It just shits me to tears that i have to turn people down because i am seriously a waste of their time. Also is possible for me to a mini me vtec conversion on my model? my goal is to run a mid 14. can anybody suggest what i should do?

Any approximate results if i ran 7psi on a typical bolt on kit?

if there is anyone from perth out there, could you advise me on a reputable workshop that deals with hondas..

thanks, Daniel

Yeah you can do a mini me VTEC head conversion but I wouldn't bother since you'd need a VTEC ECU and wiring harness along with the head (in other words you may as well spend money on the block for more boost!). The TRUST/GReddy TD04 Civic EX kit is a nice little kit, and will fit on your D16Y4.

Check out Weq's thread on overclockers, or my site at http://saboteur.cx/turbo-civic/

go the whole exhaust system... upgrade your intake...

intake is optimised, i am not going to get extractors just yet because i might go turbo pretty soon. Also is it safe to shift the gears manually from 1st to drive if so how far up the rev range is safe? 5000?

If anyone here owns an auto ide to know what you mods you have and what you run down the strip.

cheers,
Daniel

Hey You Stole my name... and I stole it from SIKCRX but still HEY!

First tip... It might be worth upgrading to Manual. autos lose a lot of power through the box. Too much on small engines like ours.

If you CBF just go turbo. its easy and done for you. I hear on your enigne you can make some decent power with a fairly cheap set up...

if u turbo ur autobox and boost up any thing more than 5psi then you will blow ur box so...i'd say upgrade to manual which will cost u heaps

sorry to sayt but sell ur car and get a ,manual if ur gonna turbo it or go faster..

Plenty of boosted D16Y4 auto owners on http://www.turbod16.com/ as well. Just note that our engine is called a D16Y7 over there and it is standard in the DX model civic.

Tim

The cheapest place would probably be America, from a distributor that will ship out here.

Forget the turbo, CRVTEC is your friend. Build a frankenstein motor NA and your insurance premiums may like you a little more :)
