Hey guys, my 98 VTI-R's rear boot doesn't hold up itself anymore. The previous owner said I needed to get a refill for the mechanisms that help lift and keep the boot up?

Anyone know where I can get this done and for how much? I hope it won't require any replacement of parts!

I'll just try ask around if any workshops can regass it. Would Honda be able to do it? Thanks for the replies so far!

I rekon just open the yellow pages and look for a gas strut re-filler, they are usually just guys who do it from the back of a van, but also some workshops do it aswell. Its alot better to get them re gassed rather than to buy new ones, because your probably going to save yourself a good $100+
Good luck buddy

They retail for $75.00USD each from Honda. They come with a 1 year 10,000 mile warranty, might be 3yr/30k, so you need to figure out how long a regas will last and if there are anyother parts, like seals, you might need. It may be better, not cheaper, to get new oem ones. There is always Ebay!

I think it's part number 74820-ST7-326 but I can't find the actual reciept that shows the item description. I'll call in the morning to confirm.

SKREMN, where is this GPC place you mentioned that referred you?

I found this though through Yellow Pages: 1800 633 027 - Nationwide onsite service. I'll prob give them a call tomorrow and see if we can organise something.
