What type of clutch does a Gen5 VTIR prelude have?
A mechanical, cable or hydraulic?

Typo in the heading, the car is a Gen5 1998.

I asked because i am having a hard time shifting into 1st gear in colder weather and was wondering could it be a clutch issue.

Seeing as it is a hydraulic clutch, would it be beneficial to bleed and replace the clutch fluid?

Have you changed your gearbox fluid dude? I had a tough time getting into 2nd/1st on the downshift sometimes, but now it's sweet as. 1st is still "harder" than the other gears - but it goes in no problems.

Anyway doubt it would be a clutch issue... more likely synchros. Like I said, it was McChooks car :p

I am going to get some Honda MTF and get it flushed on my next 5000km service.
