just wonderin the legality of this

i have read somethin that they not legal but then it can be legal if using it for gprs or rear reverse camera??
and its illegal if it distracts other drivers.......

so i confused about the whole issue

some one please confirm i will still prob buy some just wanna kno whats goin on lol
i in nsw if thats needed to be known

should only be legal if used for rear view camera (while in reverse only)
or a nav system - any other use dvd etc cannot be seen by driver while vehicle in motion or its classed as illegal

These LCD screens can only be used in front view of the driver if they display material that is considered a driving aid. So reverse camera and GPS navigation is ok but DVD or TV or PS2 etc is not ok as these are not driving aids.

As long as the driver cant see the screen. But even then if you get a tight arse copper pulling you over they might defect you for it anyway.

here in qld if the driver CAN see it (whether they watch it or not) its illegal to use while in motion (unless as previously stated it is a drivers aid)
pretty sure its same everywhere
