Anyone here lowered their Euro's with stock shocks?

I've had my Eibach prokit for a year or more and now I'm beginning to notice the car sagging. Have a gut feeling the shocks are gone by the looks and how the car feels :(. I'm going to get my shocks tested soon to see what condition they are in, but atm, I'm expecting the worse.

Some options I can take:
- If current shock are still ok (e.g. worn but not dead), then I'll go back to stock springs.

- Shocks are dead. Get them rebuilt or regased. Unsure of cost and as to who can do it.

- Replace shocks. With or without the Eibach's is another question, and depends on what shocks I can afford. For the time being, I don't want to be spending $1K fixing the shocks. Some generic shocks that can cope with my stock springs will do.

My final result is to make the Euro feel like stock again. I'm over lowered look and harsh ride of the Eibach's.

stock shocks = once they're gone, they're gone. You are going to have to replace them regardless. Either go completely OEM again, or get a set of adjustable shocks which have damper settings like Konis, tokicos, kyb, etc, and use them with ur eibachs.

If you use lowered springs with the stock shocks, it will wear out within a year. Time to get adjustables.

Thanks for reporting this slugoid. There are lots of people who have now switched to coil/shock combos and will never use their oem parts again.

If you want to go back to stock the cheapest option is to source the OEM shock/springs 2nd hand. Perhaps post up in the wanted to buy section and see how you go.

ps. By saying this I am not offering mine for sale. I am holding onto my OEM parts but someone out there will be happy to sell theirs I think.

I guess nobody really knows something unless they've had experience with it.

Just an update. I had the shocks on the Euro tested at Pedders with their 28 point suspension check and they said they were still in good condition. I was sceptical with the result, but in the end I took a gamble and went back to my stock springs. Result? Felt as good as new! Couldn't feel the bumps on the road, and no bouncing over speed humps. Cornering was pretty much the same, but I'm not too worried about that. All I wanted was having the plush ride in the Euro again and i got it.

Alignment next week and I'm back to where I started....stock as a rock.

Conclusion: Eibach Pro-kit is safe for your OEM shocks, but not your ass :D
