Replacement Ignition Key

hey guys, ive lost one of my ignition keys and im goin to get a new one from my dealer(Garry & Warren Smith Oakleigh)

-a new blank key for a civic is $50
-key cutting is $20
-Immobiliser Programming is $20

the price seems accurate to me, but am i getting ripped off?
should i be expecting a free replacement from the genorosity of my dealer?

there are a few threads already about getting replacement keys and that price seems about right judging by how much others have paid...

btw why would you expect a free replacement? its not like they lost your keys?

coz i paid $22k for my car, a new key is $90

and in my suggestion for a free replacement, there was a large quantity of sarcasm laced within my words, as it seems they, they were laced too deep, thus allowing for the possibility of a misunderstanding

PS, the above was sarcasm! incase anyone missed it, LOL

$90 sounds about right, if you shop around you MAY get a further 5-10 dollar's off but not much more unless you know someone a locksmith/ key cutter.

Think about it this way,at least you're only paying $90 rather than $200+ for a replacement red key.

eh, cheap in my opinion. lucky you don't have the key and remote combinations.
they cost about 220.
not including programming and cutting.

umm correct me if im wrong, cant you get your keys cut and brought elsewhere and just have the dealership code the chip thats inside? thats what im doing.

new key = 30 bux
cut = 20?
coding 20?

not sure.
