In my previous car, an em1, i had this fitted and had no scaping issues whatsoever.

The car was sitting on king lows and riding on 17's.

Hope this helps ;)

if you purchase jdm 4-1 and still use your stock exhaust,
do you have to adjust the catback to accommodate the lower hanging of the 4-1 ?
or does the 4-1 hang low, then go up on an angle ?

i.e. is the 4-1 a straight bolt on to a stock catback ?

I had a custom catback which bolted onto the stock header, and when jdm 1 was fitted everything lined up fine.... HOWEVER the jdm header is designed to bolt onto a jdm cat therefore the flanges are different.

So u can also change to a jdm cat but then the cat back wont bolt up.

I ended up getting a flange made up using a laser cutter and modified the cat back to suit.

JDM 4-1s hang about 1.5 cm below the sump. If you still scrape that its a problem. My car is about 2inchs off the ground and its fine, the front tie actually sits lower and it almost never scrapes

actually if you run into something, the header will hit first b4 the tie bar

Seems to be fine, lowest point is actually my exhaust pipe... @ ~13-15cm off the ground i think... 10cm off the ground is the legal height i believe to pass the pits...

Yer mine looks like that.
The bottom of my headers where it bends, is now flat :(

if its flat then u can be cutting ur diamater of ur pipe...which = badd

do like what i will Have to do, since im "rediculisly" low to the ground (says my merchanic) im gonna get metal plates put on the bottom on my sump plug and my header, so the only scratching and dents will be on a bit of metal, and not my sump plug (which is bad coz my last one ****ed up, lost all my oil and i wasnt in a good situation)

hope i helped...kinda

I got 4-1 headers on my Em1, they sit about 70mm off the ground so yeah they are always scraping :eek: I am using king super lows with koni yellows and only on the stock 15" rims so it sits rather low. But yeah, at the base of the headers it is now flat instead of round :(

header = 1 exhaust manifold
headers = multiple exhaust manifolds...
