hey guys,
just bought myself some mesh last weekend and thought i'd put it in where the front badge is.. after unscrewing it and popping the case thing out, i realised the black part in the inside was stuck together with the case:( , am i suppose to saw that bit off?

i dont haf a proper saw or i fink more specific a 'dremel'
i fink u haf to keep the top black bit so u can secure it in place in the end

hahaha ...i thought of the same thing man!!!
except i got jibbed cos i bought a "typeR style" grill from a local shop and it didnt fit ... and he didnt let me return it ...
anyway i took it apart to look at it and noticed that the grill is ALL 1 piece. lucky you asked this question now i can read in too ...

i'm sure of the the pro-DIYers have done something like this.

i also see some ppl with the whole grill bit empty... no mesh ..nothing... wondering if they just cut everything off and sanded and polished like hell afterwards...

anyone ???

Are you referring to modifying the GLi EK grill?
Are you trying to make it look like the EK9/EM1 grills?

well, i spose you can cut it, and then sand it back to make it smooth, then spray it.
but dont u think its a lot easier jst to buy the grill itself?
they're not that expensive..

but yeh, toi answer the question, u can always cut the middle part off, sand it back, the spray it.
its up to you :)
