Just wanted to say there is a reason why so many Fujitsubo exhausts are tested - its because the Japs really like it as I've said in another thread before keke.

Someone seemed to doubt me when I said they're the best exhaust brand in Japan, even though its not so big in Aust. :S

Just a Question for those who may know. How loud can your exhaust be in a stationary state in queensland, and what distances are the measurements taken at???

i think most time depend on the mood of police officer...sometimes they won't stop you even you had a bloody loud exhaust...:)

In NSW, it's 50cm, at an angle of 45º from the exhaust tip and the engine is run at 4000rpm in neutral for 4 cylinder engines. The limit is 90dB for cars made after 1st Jan 1983.

what is the db's of Buddyclub Spec 3 ?

thank you :)

I read somewhere that the SPEC 3 with silencer is around 90db and 96db without, they also mentioned the exact db reading will depend on what other mods you have done to the engine.
This information was from a web site if I find it again I’ll post it here.

hehe...;)

If you guys really want to know how loud is the spec 3. transfer $30 to my account. I will go to a exhaust place and have a test on it. They have the microphone and the proper measure machine there.

There are plenty BC3 drivers out there guys, not just a few. atm 4 integra drivers i know including me that have BC3 in VIC, and I'm sure there are other people (with different cars) that have it too, but we're just unaware of

BC3 sound is music, not NOISEEEE... especially with TODA HEADER:thumbsup:

But i dont think the police have the same taste as us, should never let them hear it. new laws says police can take ur car away for being too loud.

haha you'd be one of em, i was talking about suki though, i thought he had a spec 3 tho he changed to spec 4, i could be wrong though.

what i do know though is that the toda (which isn't on that list) sounds really nice but is not to loud :D

Very nice collection of data.
Were these all done with stock headers because i know that also effects the DB.

BC Spec 3 = Noise pollution.

I see no point in the loud noise if you are making less power in comparsion to quiter exhaust. Unless of coarse, you want that "racing feel".

Tokyo_race
24-10-2006, 10:22 PM
yeh, but whatever you get dont get MUGEN Twinloop.

NO sound, NO performance, just BRAND. and big $$$$

strange, a lot of ppl love mugen's sound and reckon they give you decent gain.

hondar
24-10-2006, 11:49 PM
mugen race their car. they do not make parts to sell (for commercial gain). they make parts to race.

besides it is part of honda subsidiary. i dont think they make crap stuff.

Tokyo_race
25-10-2006, 01:37 AM
a lot people dont beleive it. But it is true. Look on clubrsx, people sold their mugen to get powergetter or fujitsubo or whatever.

I sold my mugen to get BC3. And the guy bought my mugen, had decided to sell it, back to stock cos he didn't gain much power.

its all personal reference bro.....its whether you like it or not.....if you like ur exhaust...you will feel the gain and on the other hand if you always try to get sth better...then you will always find sth in the market and spend more $$.....I love mugen and I am running twinloop.....it just give you some high end performance plus a bit more torge compare to others brands.....but if you try to compare with sth like BC3, Spoon....they are just different.....I love my mugen for daily...but if my DC5 is for track only.... I will go J's racing....

taken from
team integra net (http://www.team-integra.net/sections/articles/showArticle.asp?ArticleID=311)

good explanation for people who dont know why they paid so much for a twin-loop and a general guide of what you get

basically 3 things u need to trade off

money, power and loudness.

Muffler design chart

Ranging from:
1 (lowest)
3 (highest)

Chambered (OEM):
Exhaust Noise level: 1
Flow capacity: 1

Chambered (aftermarket):
Exhaust Noise level: 1
Flow capacity: 2

Straight-through (larger muffler):
Exhaust Noise level: 2
Flow capacity: 3

Straight-through (N1):
Exhaust Noise level: 3
Flow capacity: 3

Twin-pass:
Exhaust Noise level: 1
Flow capacity: 3

It's usually a compromise of some sort, but there are ways around it.
If you are willing to shell out the big bucks for a twin-loop system you will get the best of both worlds.
Some like it loud, some like it quiet, it's up to you.
There is no such thing as loud and deep with our cars, you get one or the other despite what the show boys tell me with their "super loud AND deep throaty" N1 exhausts.

Some people have weird perspectives on what sounds "deep" so best to educate yourself on what makes a deep sounding exhaust rather than listen to whackos tell you how their weed-eater sounds "mean".
