Lots of things will cause vtec to fall off.

Do this,

Ecu check(thanx ben) (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8218)

Then report back.

Btw might be good idea for mods to sticky code check to model specific forums, let people get some quicker answers?

Maybe something along the lines of "before you post prob, have u checked this?" or similar.....

vtec doesnt engage when your engines cold, plus its not good for it!
wait till it warms up b4 redlinin ur car.

is your thermostat working? Mine wasn't working properly years ago, hence car was cold quite often and vtec wouldn't engage all the time. Also do you have a vafc/safc in the car. If so, it may have lost its tuning and you need to reset the ecu.

wells the problem started 2mths ago before i got a service done..and i havnt really driven it since.

when i tryed the ecu check nothing happerned..no blinks..soo i guess it might be the ecu is faulty..

but i was wondering would a 96 civic vtir ecu be compatable for my car???

Make sure that your VTEC solenoid is working. Touch a wire to the positive terminal of your battery and to the connector pin on your solenoid. You should hear a 'click' sound which will indicate that your solenoid is still working and its something else (should be working since your ecu isnt throwing any codes).

Also, check to see if your oil sump is dented and if you have enough oil.

Are you sure that your VTEC isnt engaging? What makes you think this?

Make sure ur car is warm enough first mate. And if you havent changed your thermostat yet, do it.

if the solenoid was not working you would have a check light so i doubt its that.
Try checking the oil pressure wires (dun ask me y this does not give a check light but i had this problem with my first conversion)

try using another computer, im not 100% if the civic computer will work.
if you have checked everything ppl have posted im guessing its eletrical problem.
