actually it depends on the year model of your eg.
that determines which type of fuel filter you have.

1. inlet and outlet is at the top of the filter
2. inlet at the top, and outlet at the bottom.

give me till tomorrow and i'll find out the part numbers for both.

OEM usually have better filter paper than the aftermarket ones.

In my engine a D15B4 is there only 1 fuel filter near the petrol tank or is there 1 in the engine bay as well? If there is where is it located?

dunno you should just be able to see in your manual
Otherwise have a look in the engine bay it will come just before your injectors if its there.

D15B4 has the fuel filter at the fuel tank only.

Z337 is the part number from memory. As Ryco's book can list a few diff types of filter, it is better to remove the factory filter and get the factory part number off it and cross reference it in the Ryco book.

Z337 was in my car but the ryco book said Z616 so i brought that, will this make a differance? the z337 is straight and the z616 is not will this effect my car?

Nope, aslong as you can get it all hooked up it wont make any difference.
Should be right though, I just checked up the part number to confirm that it is Z616.

Get new fuel clamps, EFI ones will be worthwhile as you can tighten them.

Use the Z337, if it had a working Z337 in the car previously. Ryco are generic and the Z616 does not fit into the bracket and the hoses are a bit short and causes the fuel line to leak... However, the damage might already be done with a split/stretched fuel hose.

Get a Z337 as that is the filter you should have in your car.

Is it a filter? How much did it cost you?

Oh ok. Do you know if OEM ones come with clamps and the cover that goes around it?

The cover that goes around it? I assume you mean the factory fuel filter bracket? You have to use the original fuel filter bracket for which ever fuel filter you fit.

honda do not supply new fuel clamps or fuel filter bracket with their filter.

You will need to get a new bracket from a wrecker but I think you could buy a new bracket from Honda... It won't be cheap from Honda though!

Can putting in the wrong filter in cause backfiring and/or stalling?

sorry late reply. yes it is a universal fuel filter measuring 1.5inch in full assembled length, 2 inches with the nipples attached.

below is what it looks like inside... costs ~$20 from most shops. Most ionline stores sell it for over $100 for some reason....
