Since having the car for 4 months now, I have seen the side air bag wairning light came on for abt 3-5 secs and went off. This has happened 2 or 3 times, roughly abt once a month.

has anyone of you experienced this?

Next service is due in a few weeks though.

Yup, it's because either you or your passenger is leaning on the side bolsters. In the US where they are fatter, the side airbag light comes on pretty often. http://www.acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Do you have a seat cover on the seat covering the side?

If you are sitting properly in your seat and you don't have a passenger when the light comes on, then I guess the connector for the weight sensor under your seat is loose, or the sensor is faulty. Get the dealer to look at it then. I'm sure they will rush to fix it when you mention it is a safety issue. hehe

If I remember correctly, it happened when I just alighted from the driver's seat and shut the door. It was my wife who told me abt the warning light.

On the 2nd occasion (few wks apart), the light came on when the driver-side door was shut and then went off momentarily.

Anyway, I guess having the dealer to look at it is the best.. thanks guys.
