The car has a torsion bar set up at the front. To lower it at the front you have to adjust the torsion bars.
86-89 integra da3 seats bolt in (very comfortable). There are a two different rail set ups in the 3rd gen civics so if in doubt just use the 3rd gen rails.
King springs make a low spring for the 3rd gen for a cheap and easy rear drop. Companies like Ground Control in the states make a coil over for most aftermarket shocks, which you'll probably have to get from the states as well. Koni and Tokico make good adjustable shocks for the 3rd gen.

Im pretty sure the Integra torsion bars would be interchangable as well. Would give you better handling as they are stiffer - so you can lower the car without the fear of bottoming out.

any1 found online service manual for 3Gens?

Best service manuals are the factory ones. There are a lot of genuine manuals on the UK Honda website, and for the early Civic's at least, they cover Australian models:

Possibly not the forum for this Q, but does anyone know of an uprated alternator that fits a 1986 Civic with EW2 ?? Stock alternator is 55A and mine is on the way out. I believe early 90's CRX had around 70A, but would it fit ??

hey,

the bottom console on your car isn't the factory item... it looks like a CRX centre console. Because your ashtray area is different to the CRX one it will leave a gap between them. I'd try and find the stock civic centre console and take this one out - OR fit something in there - like a set of gauges (oil.water temp etc).

the EW2 motor is a Carby 1.5L SOHC. I don't think the Yanks actually have thesame motor there. But parts are pretty much available here in Aus as its seems its an Aussie Delivered motor.

Hey
I know a fair bit about these civics and theres is a few things wrong in this post.

The canadian motors are the same as ours except some have FI and the us ones are the same with a different head (only the inlet ports).

The si ones from japan came with a d16a3 engine like in 86-89 tegs but its engine code was ZC.

All the civics in the states are the same as ours, there was no HF civic only a base one wich is equal to our base one an 1500s which is like a GL and a SI which is just fule injected and has a sunroof but otherwise the same as the 1500s

Teg torsion bars will go in if you also put the tube in but are actually softer than stock bars, the wagon civic bars are slightly stiffer and go in if you use the tubes from the wagon.

The year tegs which are simalar is 86-89 tegs. they have pop up headlights. rover 416i are the same as these tegs but have 4 doors.

In the pics the first circle should be a clock.
The centre console looks like it is out of a teg and the sensor you cut is your windscreenwiper motor.

The difference between base and GL civics is no rear swaybar on base, no boot popper next too the driver and non adjustable (up and down) steering column.

The recessed headlights came on 84-85 civics and flush ones came on 86-87 civics, no mater what specification level.

If you have any questons feel free to PM me.

Luke

whats this tube thing you speak of? strut towers?

ok underneath the car you will see a tube running back from the crossmember towards the rear of the car that has two bolts holding it on at the end, this is the tube that the height adjustig nut is attached to. Some different torsion bars are longer or shorter in length so if you use them you must use the correct tube.

You can see it here it is labled torsion bar spring, the torsion bar is inside the tube.
