Hey guys, is any EG FI engines (like d15a7) compatible in EF? if yes, is it complicated to do so??

yes. Any D series out of a EG will legally and technically fit without too much hassle...have alook at this thread to help ya out ~

you can even then get B16a2's out of the JDM inspired EG6's etc...and even go as far as K series etc.

yes.. anything is possible. Only thing is why do a 1.5L swap when you can swap a B16A or B18C or even K20 as Benn said.

Can i just simply install a lower series EG engine to a EF because i don't need much power. All i want is fuel injection & i have limited budget...

you mean ED right? EFs have the b16s already.

not for the local market. The CRX engine + fuel system + wiring etc woudl be the best bet IMO. d16a8 with 96kw ~ is a nice combo in a light shell

that would be my recommendation as well - get a ZC or D16A8 motor.

um..there is 1 hassle..
it's the gearbox.
EG's use hydro gearbox
and the EF/ED are Cable clutch operation gearbox.
so...
in order to fit a EG engine into a ED u need to either to one of these things
1. Find a JDM ZC gearbox and put it on to the D16a8
2. Find a ZC motor (D16a8) out of a EF and put it in (easierst)
3. Modify the firewall so it can take hydro clutch set up. (costy)

what about putting an auto motor in? i wanted to put an Auto d16y1 in my ED cause my ED is a runaround and im in peak hour traffic all the time so i want it to remain auto...

if he finds a ZC out of an EG - it will come with a hydro gbox.

Instead of swapping the engine and spending thousands of $$$, have you thought about simply selling your car and buying another one? Maybe an EG or EK :) Alot of EFI EG's (Gli/VTi/Si) are going for like $4000-$6000 now.

At the end of the day, it may work out to be cheaper.

Thanks for your advice...I wanna buy so but...sigh...EG GLi isn't that cheap! At least $6500 for a better condition one...

i know a friend who has a genuinely immaculate condition VTi EG civic. Silver with 200 000km. selling for $5000. The driver is in his late 20s and is a very mature driver, and treats his car with much respect. You can inspect the car and you'll realise the condition of the engine and body is extremely well maintained for its age. PM me if you want to arrange an appointment or more info.
