Hi guys
i'm currently pondering about an engine conversion into an ek4. Can u use the stock computer from the 95-96.5 vti-Rs to run a b18c5 given after 96.5 the wiring loom was changed for the civic?

ther'es no b18c5 in au, that is a US only engine
and no u can't use b16 ECU, the fueling etc is all wrong
the car will run , you won't get good performance

You can however get your stock computer reflashed with the type R program and then it will run fine.

JDM - B18C Spec R
AUDM - B18C7
USDM - B18C5
just look at the for sale section as many type R engines and half cuts are up for grabs reguarily.

Our VTi-R's are powered by B18C2's. I've never seen a B18C5.

IMO It wouldnt be worth the swap to a B18-non-R if you already have a B16A..

It would be if you prefer to have the extra torque 8)

but it isnt worth it really for an extra 25nm of torque.

I dont think pedantic is the right word. If one wanted to do an engine swap to an EK4- go for an ITR engine....not a teg VTi-R.
