no definitive answer, depends on weight, size wheels and tyres, engine specs (inc. compression) ect..

trial and error is the only answer

i find 3-4K rpm launches the best
ride the clutch abit. when it rolls off the pedal

usually launch under vtec as the car becomes hard to get traction, but like said above its all about the car's ergonomics, depending on your spension mods etc...

Its kinda a matter of practice. Usually if you launch higher you need to ride the clutch more.

Best thing to use is your bum g-sensor and see what feels fastest... alternatively you can try a g-tech or apexi rsm with g meter. This way you really know what is the best way to launch from 60ft times.

I find i get the best launches at just under 5000rpm, and riding the clutch a fair bit. Ride it just below vtec point is really good, if u launch on vtec ull prolly fry the tyres as mentioned above.

I agree, around 5K is prob best- BUT to get a good launch you will need to bring the clutch up progressively (to hold the revs as you move off), so dont try it too often or you will burn the plate out.

moved to the track/drag racing section.

Ideally...its something you will learn yourself at a drag race strip. Go to one and for a small fee , practice :)
Just try not to bog down too much and not too much wheelspin ~ and combined with a hundred other factors im sure you will adopt the perfect launch.

don't listen to dc2 if you launch at 8k rmp your engine will cut out before you get any traction

when we ran egk20a we launch it around 6500 rpm with BFG drag radial DOT tyres and pull a high 1.8 - 1.9 60ft , with full slicks we can launch it at 8000 rpm and run a consistent 1.7 60ft.
We also launch badhbt at pretty close to 8k rpm and pull 1.7 60ft with m/t full slicks

I guess the key here is to try to ride your clutch abit .

as ppl hav said its realy all about how good u can slip ur clutch to depend on wat rpm u can take off at. if u drop it too much u'll get too much wheelspin even at fairly low revs. like ppl hav said, trial and error, see wat works for u! i find best for me is to put my tyre pressure at 20 psi and launch at 6000 rpm.

depends too much on ur tyres. how the weather is. is the track warm. is it a grippy track. driver ability. clutch wear.

too many things are involved for any1 to give u a number

but if u must then i say let it idle and try to get into 1st by riding the clutch and once in 1st try to get into 2nd and then 3rd and then floor it in 3rd then skip 4th and go to 5th. saves fuel

best launch is find the friction point on the clutch 5000k rpm and the handbrake so when your on the friction point its not rolling forward...
then let go the handbrake and your off
