stronger wheel nuts (the slim ones)

hey guys,

my wheels havent got much clearance between the actual rim and the hole for the stud so they use these crappy nuts that have a allen key style to open. Anyway, after you tighten them and loosen them a couple of times the chrome chips off and they start to rust on the surface so my question is can you get stronger ones of this type because im scared one day im gonna have to take a grinder to my rims cos i snap one of these stupid nuts.

mmmm get new nuts like some rays ones with the lock nut so your wheels cant be stolen.

the rays ones wont fit, otherwise i would have got em already. They are too fat and i have to use these crappy special nuts that are round on the outside and real thin.

Yeah i know what you mean. I hate them nuts, super gay. Don't think there's much you can do about it. Perhaps sell your wheels?

yeh ive got these too and last time the mech who did my sussy rounded one and cracked it at the same time.... i had to go to another mech who had all these tools to get it out.

iam in the same boat as u guys i tried to put my mates rays in but nope.... no good.

i had the same with the allen key ones. I had to weld 2 keys on the nuts to get my wheels off. Then i got these other ones from Autobarn, the key fits over the piece instead of in it. And they are as slim as the allen key ones. Mine are black and i only paid $60 for my set about 3 yrs ago though.

what brand are they? they look like they are too big still from the pic but if you said they fit so ill give them a shot. These nuts i have are shite

yeah all the allen key ones are, i think they have ones that are heat treated to make them stronget but the ones above have been going strong for 3yrs now and i've change 4-5 different sets of rims in that time. Take one with you to go and compare, I had ROH wheels with very slender boltholes and the just fit perfect.

Go to a wheels shop. they can drill them out bigger

I just got one.. the walls are heaps thin and slip in perfectly
