been thinking of changing from my civic to a 4th gen prelude vtir? i was wondering if it was easy to go the NA route of modification with the prelude. also i was wondering y there dont seem to be many NA preludes at the circuit or drags. i understand its a heavier car and all but i thought they wud be able to pull sum decent times on the drag strip in NA form?

i guess preludes are more of a looker than a boy racer kinda car
and also parts availability can be an issue.
so most modders tend to go the integra/civic route when it comes to hardcore modding
just my opinion

NA is many times more expensive than FI. well known fact. for 10k spent on NA u could gain the same from 5K on turbo mods. (note initial turbo setup should set u up over 6k)
NA rocks! its kinda only easy to modify NA if u do ur research, same goes with FI but NA requires i suppose a higher level of precision when doing things. read the all motor section and ull find some big builds there. even www.modproject.com has a dc2(i think) with a h22a, bao has spent ALOT of cash on it, i mean 5 digits so be prepared for NA to be very expensive as once u do the basic bolt ons it does mean crackin the beast open and doing internals and rebuilds dont come cheap these days.
i suppose not many NA builds are on preludes because they are a heavier car than something like a civic or teg, and many h22a swaps have been done in those cars to try and get stupid power!
rather than reading up on NA prelude builds try checking out some H22a builds and that could kinda give u a guide as to how to do things when ti comes to the h22.
the h22a is a very well engineered motor, and not every backyard tuner know how to deal with it, many people will tell u its easy and tey can help you out but u must go to a pro. someone who KNOWS honda engines back and front, from inside and out

oh okay... i see. hrm coz i thought a stripped out all motor NA prelude would be cool. maybe not so cool now? i got the idea from watching the touge battle with the jun prelude... now that was an awesome car!!!

oh dont get me wrong if u want all out, nothing but track it could be rockin!
some stage three jun cams would be trick!
stripped out, full de-sound deadening, all out track car could have alot more potential than a daily driver

yeh just thought it would be what seems to be a fairly original idea. coz the prelude seems to be a good base.

As a track car they're nowhere near as bad as I thought they would be. I've been doing Sprints at QR in a 4th gen vti-r with minimal mods, basically just swaybars and brakes and getting pretty decent times.
The weight does make it harder to put through corners than an integra or civic but it seems to be a pretty well balanced car.
And the H22's certainly have the potential to be fast in N/A form.
Do it, it's something different, as long as you don't mind being beaten by similarly modded type r's, eg6's, and ek4's.

Also, because FI is the easier route to go by (in many tuning aspects), is cheaper to get the same power output from, and is basically the way to go if you want all out power. Na you really gotta spend more time and more dollars to come out with the same output.

haha have to say i agree, preludes are under-rated a lot of the time. if you got enough money they can be great/fast fun cars (the JUN prelude like you mentioned :thumbsup:). I guess the civic/integra are just cheaper to get the performance out of and so they are more popular?

my personal opinion is thus, NA power is the purest form of power. Because its hard to attain, respect should be given to those who do. The easy route is the path oft travelled, only the true believers take the less worn path. These people are the ones who get remembered.

Some people are always trying to ice skate up hill . . . . :p
If I wanted all out performance, I would go FI. But I am not so its NA for me.
