who insures 17"/18" wheels for my 95 accord??

when i ring up insurance companies they tell me they will only insure me if the wheels are legal...
http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/vrpdf/rdsafe/VSI%208.pdf this is the vic roads standards to modifications, in section 8 'wheels and tyres'. it says:
* the width of any replacement rim must not be:
- more than 25mm greater than the widest wheel specified by the vehicle manufacturer for that model or vehicle series; or
- less than the width of the narrowest rim specified by the vehicle manufacturer for that model or vehicle series.

*the overall diameter of any replacement rim and tyre must not be:
- more than 15mm greater than largest diameter tyre specified by the vehicle manufacturer for that model or series;

the standard size for my accord is 15"x5.5", as said by the regulations this means i can technically get 18" wheels but am limmited to 6.5" wide rims.... i now theres plenty of people on this site that have 17's or 18's, and are wider than 6.5 inches.... can any of use please tell me who they are insured with and if they are covered when they go to make a claim with these wheels.......

Try Just Cars, they're pretty good on mods, but most insurance companies will need to have the car legal in every way for it to be insured.

yer have tryed....the guy told me as long as its legal they will cover me..or if i get engineers certificate or vic roads says its legal

what is the widest rim Honda makes for the 95 accord series - is it 5.5" - even for the models with alloys?

mine has alloys and yer...its 5.5" i have been linked to sites in amerca that say they ranged from like 4.5-6.5....... but i cant really go off that can i... cuz we have different laws to america.. whats legal over there might not be legal here...
