 Iv got a eg4 and i just want to know if there are any dissadvantages in the chassis compared the other eg's (eg6, eg5...). Is it just different enines and interior or is the whole structure of the car different like suspension? if anyone has any links to this information would be good. any help appreciated

im not sure on all of the differences, but the chassis' are all the same.

some differences between models are:
-engines
-interior
-power options (windows mirrors)
-some are carby, some EFi
-some exterior differences (colour coded mirrors and door handles on some models)
-front bumper has slight differences between models
-i think eg6 came with rear disc brakes rather than drums??
-and im not sure but maybe certain models came with rear sway bars whilst some came without.

thats just some info to get you started

well thats good to here, that all the chassis are the same. so all parts are interchangable between the models, like suspension?

yes most if not all EG parts are interchangeable with one another. Things like an EG Sedan bonnet wont fit an EG Hatch etc..

But suspension equipment will interchange for sure between any EG's.

Alot of DC2 gear is interchangeable with EG's also.

jdm eg's have different rear LCAs than audm eg's.

the jdm eg's share the same LCAs as the audm DC2Rs, whereas the audm eg's share the same LCAs as the audm DC2/4s..

so if you wanna get jap sussy.. you'll have to change your rear LCAs.

ahh so thats why i see people changing there rear lower control arm just for there suspension. I thought maybe the suspension setup was totally different :p, that clears everything up. thanks

The EG6 has bigger brakes - 262mm compared to our 242mm at the front. not sure about the rear. The EG6 steering rack is different too.

what is different between the steering rack? anyways, im going get new set of flca because i bent my left one on a gutter. I thought might aswell get aftermarket omni ones. I mainly just wanted to know if i have the best chassis to start modifying for the track

btw, it's only the rear LCAs that will need to be changed if you want to use JDM sussy..
the front is A'OK!

and yeah, only the siR, VTi and Si came with rear discs.. all the rest came with rear drums

does changing the rear lca's to eg6/dc2 lca's help much in the way of handling?

Not all JDM EG's have the Ball joint LCA
