Well I was looking at eBay (I know it's evil!) and stumbled upon this $70usd (current bid) for a replacement dash- obviously the real/final price will be considerably more, and it isn't designed for the AU market Civic, but I was wondering if anyone has tried such a thing yet on the Australian Civic. I'm inclined to think this would void the warranty!

It wont void the honda warranty, thats illegal. But if that thing is the cause of a malfunction such as the battery shorting and catching fire, then the repair wont be covered under warranty.

Have a look at Civic dash photos from the US, if it looks identical then the new dash plastic should fit fine.

More to do with LHD and RHD issues. I've seen some people on the Singaporean FD1 site rip out the interior; so it's already been done! :)
