I'm after the part number for a vtec pressure switch for my b16a engine.

are the vtec pressure switches all the same for B series engines or different?

thanks in advance

From memory, all OBD1 VTEC pressure switches are the same, that includes D and B series engines... Green 2 pin plug on a green sensor.

wow you having issues with your VPS (code 22) also ?? maybe it's the cold weather ?

My VPS code went away for a while last night but came back before my motor was warm enough to VTEC :(

ok, vtec fell off again

I tried bridging a4 and d6 to clear the code (ghetto style), still no vtec

any more input guys?

we must have the same problem... check out my thread also "my VTEC fell off"..

have you tried running the VPS directly to the ECU pinout and it's own ground wire ? I'd do this so that way you know if it's the sensor or the wiring causing the issue - it can only be one or the other ; )

I dont recommend doing this EVER...

VTP is a Grounded Input signal
VTS is a +12V signal output

Why on earth would you connect the two? Sure, it gets rid of the error, but its only masking the issue.

Anotherthing to keep in mind is that the ECU will not switch fuel/ign tables if the VTP is not grounded on vtec x-over, and hence will run your vtec cam LEAN!

Ever wonder why these errors are "usually" accompanied with a KNOCK error?

you answered your own question

Sure, it gets rid of the error

and there is no knock error

no need to be like that, you're actually missing the point.

but if you want to continue running vtec on the low cam fuel & ign map, then be my guest.

and please dont quote me out of context.

Thanks

Sorry to come off as being a jerk, that wasn't my intention.

I'm not running vtec at all, thats my problem LOL.. I thought fuel and ign maps were RPM dependant, regardless of vtec engaging or not.
