http://www.revs.nsw.gov.au/

not sure if this is available australia wide

but basically a government database, setup by the department of fair trading that checks if the car has been in a serious accident or any debt owing on it.

I have a Integra Type R

mmmm... all seats rear and front, the carbon fibre vinyl dash which is basically centre console and vents. Theres no middle storage compartment like in other cars.
Theres a little tab near the handbrake which has the build date of the car.

Make sure the gearknob feels light. Imitations are quite heavy i'm told. Swirly circle marks are the aluminium ones.

Steering wheel is hard to get. Its the JDM Integra version, apparently slightly bigger then the Civic JDM version. They don't fit in each others places.

The doors of an ITR have none of that moulding.
Rims are different... 5 spoke.
Type R Kit: front lip, rear lip, side skirts and spoilers
Type R signs 2 stickers are on the rear quarter panels on both sides and the rear sticker.
If you take the car for a spin you can hear alot of road noise.

The user manual has a red sign on it.

Put it this way... why would a person even want to make a standard integra look like a type R, the costs is mindblowing. For the costs and time to replace all of those parts together... might as well buy a Type R.

But yeah, like others have stated best to do those tests. If your in victoria, you can call up vicroads and its an option on the call list.

engine says B18c7, gearbox case should say LSD
vin should have those numbers also.
the rear should have a standard tie bar linking the 2 control arms.
physical appearance of the type r i believe have been outlined in the above posts.

given the type of car that it is, it should still have the owner manual, thats probable the fastest way

BTW the side skirts and rear pods are optional OEM.

dundas: If you like I'd be happy to look at it for you if you've got one in mind, I'd pick a fake in no time.

One thing that is difficult to replace or put on a non-gen type r is on the inside of the drives side door, there is a sticker with the tyre pressures, etc. That says integra type r on it and I don't think you'd want or be able to replace those stickers.

bet none of you knew this,

but on type R's there should be some green paint by the distributor towards the back of the engine. But this cna be washed off if an engine is steam cleaned.

If the block has red paint on the engine number it means it has had a replacement oem block from honda
