Anyone have much experience with Koni Yellows/lowering springs? I just installed them with H&R Sport loweing springs on the rear. (1.9" lowering Rear). Everything is tightened, sway bar endlinks, strut top mounts, strut top nut. Koni Yellow is on the lowest perch.

when I go over pot holes in the road, or even tram tracks (anything with a dip) and relative high speed (i.e. 40kmh+) I get a clanging, rattling sound (in the rear only) Not sure if its the spring slapping their coils or if the spring is too short (when the shock is uncompressed and 'long', the spring is jumping around?!)

Any pointers guys? How can I check? Just bring to a good sussy shop?

on lowest perch... so the highest one to the strut top?

I get a clanging, rattling sound (in the rear only) Not sure if its the spring slapping their coils or if the spring is too short (when the shock is uncompressed and 'long', the spring is jumping around?!)... is the most likely scenario

is the sping design progressive? if so, I it could be the spring coils 'hitting' against each other when you go over bumps. Whiteline make spring coil wrap which can resolve this problem, or use some garden hose.

hey mate, thanks for the reply :)

lowest perch is the one thats closer to the ground (so to speak), so the one furthest away form teh strut top, for that extra drop.

I think thats where the problem lies.

The spring is progressive. After the extension, then compression again, i get a HUGE "thump!@" on the strut top. that would probably be the case then - short spring. fudge!@

Maybe the only solution is to raise the car up one spring perch, to further compress the spring. you never answered my pm from a while ago hehe ;)

Could be hitting your exhaust. Depending on how much movement is occuring the sway bar could be hitting. Have a look at home much clearance you have and also check if there is any damage to any of the parts.

Other alternatives:

Sway hitting the lca (as everything is lower)
Bolts on your sway have loostened up causing things to move

Been checking out US forums, these accords get alot of problems when lowering. Could be

- need coil spring wrap (getting that put on)
- spring is too short (unlikely)
- swaybar is hitting something
- swaybar endlink is hitting the bottom of the shock tower
- shock/spring may be positioned incorrectly (i.e. may need to rotate or something
- swaybar endlink bolts maybe be worn out, bushes worn
- could also be rear camber (some guys in the states put in an anti camber kit and the clunking sound went away)

Not an easy problem to fix, but hell, cars being raised anyway cos i have parking issues with westfield doncastor carpark.
