im looking at a set of wheels that are 30-35 offset. my car is 45+ offset. will spacers solve the problem?
any help or advice welcome, thanks.

hey, spacers will simply push the wheel out further, which means the offset will be lower. i.e. 5mm spacer with a +35 offset wheel will mean the total offset = +30.
So, it wont solve the problem. i'm afraid, u will need to buy another set of wheels with the most suitable offset. take note that spacers render the car illegal, hence not being covered in ANY way in an accident.
I believe you can also have the wheels shaved. So +35 offset will become +40 if you shaved 5mm.

just a note on the above - shaving wheels is highly dangerous as it affects the structural integrity of the wheel, causing potential rim failure if under extreme load. The rim will be weakened. Since the rim is what keeps ur car body and car on the road (plus tyres), i dont think you should even think about this.

Just go look at your car now. Say your wheels offset are 45 atm, and you gonna put on a set with 35 offset. It'll stick out an extra 10mm. Depending on how low your car is, you could probably see if it's gonna hit the gaurds or not.

not always true mate, also depends on how wide the wheel is, it will stick out more than 10mm or not as much as 10mm. So its really a combo of width + offset = "stick outage"
