Apexi replacement air filter for DC5R - flat?!

I just recieved a Apexi replacement air filter for my DC5R which i ordered from Japan off another website and its flat! Just a flat panel filter!

Does anyone know if this is the way it should be? or have i ordered the wrong one, as the stock DC5R filter is round like a pod filter inside the stock airbox.

I checked the Apexi Jap website and DC5 isn't even on the list for air filters. (the website i ordered off clearly stated this is suitable for DC5R tho).


If anyone has ordered a Apexi replacement stock airfilter for DC5R please let me know if yours is flat too!

was there a picture that came with the ad for the filter? if it shows anything other than a panel i guess thats grounds for refund due to false advertising.

does the panel filter fit?

No it didn't have a picture. The Apexi (JDM) website doesn't have DC5 listed so i guess they don't even make a replacement filter for DC5. And it absouletly doesn't fit.

Tried it in my sister's EK Civic and it fits so i may as well just put it there.

All DC5 Air boxes use a Doulbe open ended Cone Filter. Theres no way a panel filter can fit inside the box and work. Comptech,Spoon and Mugen do replacement Filters and if you check there website they are Cone Filters!

I think you got the wrong model..
it should be a cylinder type..
the cylinder should be the size of a cd..
just look at the factory one and find a differnt filter material..
