I have about a $6,000 budget and was looking at buying an EF/EL falcon but I really like the shape and look of the 1992 model Preludes and the quad headlight integras. Am I dreaming to pick one of these up for $6,000? Also what else do I need to know about the cars, anything in particular? I was thinking about picking one up from the auctions such as this one.

dude one look on carsales would answer your questions.

no, you will not get a dc2 (quad headlight) integra for $6000, and if you DO find one for that price it will most likely be shitenhouse.

for that money, you'll be looking at Da9 integras, which are better anyways imo. you might find something with around 150 000kms for that money, if youre lucky.

Well the thing is I want a more modern looking car that is why I dont want the earlier models. I wouldnt mind either a civic, integra or prelude as long as its the modern version of them. Something like this would be good but it does look like I may have to save up some more. I am losing my licence for three mths and the plan was to buy a car and get it looking schmick for once I get my licence back.

Can someone give me a quick rundown or even minicomparison of the three cars (integra, prelude, civic) because it seems to me that the integra and prelude are more like rivals and im confused why honda released them both.

preludes are great, and the model u mention is great, but you wont be able to find a good (roadworthy) example for $6000, unless it is through auction etc. expect around 7-9k for a base model s, depending on the contition and equipment it comes with.

For about $6K, you'll be looking at half decent Civics only, EG or EK series...

Prelude correct me if I'm wrong but they were designed for the American Market while the Integras were designed more for home (Japan).
