Just a thought that crossed my mind this arvo... with Koni Yellows, is it possible to remove the circlip and move the spring perch up with the shock still on the car?

I imagine it would it depend on the ability of the spring compressors to compress the spring enough.

Has anyone tried this? I want to try raising the car a bit.

You would really have to compress the spring ALOT. On top of that, you would most likely have to replace the low profile/cut bumpstop with another that is suitable for the "raised" height. I'm about to go through this proces myself. But after DIYing it first time, i cbfed doing it again, and i'm getting someone to do it for me.

Dammit! It will have to wait till the holidays!

My bumpstops are buggered too, so much for custom lowrider stops, hehe.

and yes to the inital question.. easily done if your springs are uncaptive..

but with captive springs.. im not sure if u can find a spring compressor to fit as its got limited space..

What i done once was lowered the car and then tired the spring up.. then raise the car... the spring remained compressed and i changed the perchs that way - i would never do it again.. it would have been quicker takuing it out

Stock ones got pounded till they turned into dust.

Looks like I'll have to adjust them the proper way! Thanks lads

that isnt good.. only means u need to raise your car else get short bodies koni's...

cause youll end up running on bump stops anyways regardless of which bump stop u use

once the shock is visible (IE corner is on jack stands) - if the spring is softish rates you can lift it up off the circlip/perch with a crowbar.
Simply place above the upper control arm onto the lowest spring coil you can reach - make sure its not going to slip - and slowly lever it down. This will pull the spring up and hopefully be easier to adjust the perch height. BE CAREFUL AS THE BAR CAN SLIP AND KILL YOU.

Otherwise jsut take the whoel thing out and disassemble and reassemble as usual.
