Any one removed the resonator on an ed air intake?

Should i do it will i get a performance boost (prob not big enough to notice)
but it will be louder i take it?

Yes it will be louder.

Yes it will gain power, but like you said nothing you will probably notice. :thumbsup:

I removed it just for the hell of it, didn't notice any difference. The thing doesn't seem like it would do a damn thing anyway, I mean its got a pipe from the intake pipe going into this box thing, but the box is sealed. Why would air go down there in the first place?

Anyway, my intake is already k&n'd so its pretty loud to start with. What I can hear over the zorzt at least.

the reasonators are to keep you intake from making noises, ie whistling etc..

Taking them out can sometimes cause some cars to loose power as the ecus are tuned with them. There was a fastfours article a while back which showed this to be true.

Granted, but

1. Its an ED, an Aus delivered ones are carby.

2. The intake sensor (MAP or MAF, something liek taht) is on the throttle body, wel after the baffle, so ecu would account for changes. (Ie is its AFTER the sensor, the ECU wouldn't know about it and not actually account for the change.)
