A bit under powered me thinks....
Considering a EK VTIR has more power and probably weighs less too.

Also it looks abit crap.

Hmmmm - not bad but I guess this raises a question for me. Will Honda Australia just import this one now instead of the R?

I read on Hot4s about the concept of civic SI, it looks and performs way better than this

I saw this UK built civic at an airport lounge in Europe somewhere. I couldn't help but notice that it has very irregular panel gaps which makes me wonder about build quality. I should have taken photos to show you guys - but the bonnet was completely out of alignment and the rear quarter panel gaps leading to the boot were different right to left. Yes, it is built to a price - but the early 90s Japan built Honda Civic in my family was built very tight and consistent in terms of panels.

(hey in case anyone is wondering why I was thinking about panel gaps - I had heaps of time to wait for my plane and spent like 20 minutes looking over this civic!)

i acutally dont mind the look lol :P

but neway the power figure is way down the hole... in a day and age where cars are loaded heavy with equipment 103kw is nothing special. But then it does depend on the nature of the engine i guess. I dont see many ppl complaining about the old SOHC Vtecs, so they shouldnt complain about this

Pretty much agree. The car looks great but the power output is really disappointing. 100 kW might be passable for a base model, but for a halo S model it is almost laughable.

They better get the pricing right.

huh what did they do to the rear of the car? that looks terrible.

This is how it should be:

Looks like Honda appropriated some of the aesthetics of the current Peugeot 206 there - particularly the horizontal angle apex and the rear contours. Unfortunately, I was a fan of the more linear early to mid 90s 306. Thumbs down for visuals - and power too if this is supposed to be the AUDM Type R equivilent. :( I wonder if Honda release concept design and performance specifications for public criticism prior to release - IMHO this model would suggest that they don't.

I like the look. I probably prefer the brilliant simplicity of the EG, but this might grow on me. If they actually imported them, I'd consider it as my next car.

Surprised so many people don't like the look. I think it looks fantastic! Here is the diesel version on the optional 18" Honda rims - saw this in Croatia yesterday.

you people have no taste!

That car makes the current crop of small cars obsolete, in 10 years time when you kids can afford one you'll be praising how good they are!

IMHO this is the best looking civic honda has everdone. The EP was dull as dishwater, the EG although a favourite of mine was hopelessly tinny. This new civic breaks the mould, its bold and daring, probably the main reasons why Honda Australia isn;t importing it, not because its to expensive, its because people in general here are clueless when it comes to style. hehe!

the triangle exhausts are cool, but the whole bubble theme, like the dc5 is a bit too much.

looks ok, not my style. dont look at it as a sports model. its designed for europe where, currently, diesel is king due to high fuel costs (a lot higher than here). also, as its a diesel it wont have a high power output but torque will be good, which is wat u want around town anyway. its also pretty specced up (alcantara trim, 17's etc) so its probly more of a lux spec.

thats my $0.02 worth
