A couple of pics I found of this rare HKS Silent Power series cat back exhaust system for a CL7 for anyone interested. It's meant to cater for those looking for lower DB levels for street use.

Don't know of any pricing but I'm sure any of the OzHonda traders can help if your interested.

There is also a link of what it might sound like from HKS Japan but it sounds like it's been recorded off a wrx (boxer like engine in idle). http://www.hks-power.co.jp/sound/

Looks nice, but seems a straight-through tho, so doubt it'll be "silent".

Check the reverse camera on the white Euro

all testing done on a Euro R

This exhaust has been out for a while now to my knowledge. Its just that it hasnt had the publicity compared to the mugen/fujitsubo/greddy/DC/Tanabe exhausts
a former euro owner on OH (Leungie i think it was, had # plates "CL9", blue euro) had the HKS Silent Hi-power i think...
Here's the thread he started.

I'm quite interested in this cat-back, but it's hard to find anyone with one.

There's some discussion about it here,

http://tsx.acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19847

where it's fitted to a CL7 in Singapore. There are some more pics at

I'm thinking about messaging the guy to ask if he has a sound clip.

I don't know of any specific forum. Some people just seem to hang around the main TSX ones.

The HKS site (if I read it right) says the stock car (CL7 though) is 79 dB.

The supposedly quietish Tanabe touring medallion is under 93 dB on the US site, although the Japanese Tanabe site seems to list it as under 95 (Touring seems to have replaced the SMH)

I always assume that anything that's Jasma approved can't be too loud.

Singapore has pretty strict car laws; that other thread says the HKS is only after market one allowed (besides the Mugen through Honda dealers and now maybe the Fujitsubo) -- so it can't be obnoxious.

(Interestingly both the HKS and the Tanabe are described as having the same "Advantex" fibre filling)

yup..correct abt the singapore has pretty strict car laws...some of these japanese brand catbacks are modified to cater for singapore market as loudness of exhaust is v.important
