4th Gen 94 Prelude - Dash lights?

On a friends 94 VTi-R Prelude the speedo needle doesn't light up any more

I was wondering if someone could tell me what LED it takes? Size?
12V or do I need to put a resistor?

not too sure.. i test drove a jdm silver lude aggess ago when i was looking to buy a lude. and the speedo needle was just black..

was one of the factors that put me off buying .. along with many others of course.

the needle is a separate part that can be purchased from honda spares. installation sucks tho.

So need to buy a whole needle rather than just a replacement bulb/LED?

Preludeacris, the needle should light up red normally

yeah you need to buy the needle. I am pretty sure the led is sealed in there so you'd destroy the needle trying to replace it.

just to clarify, 94+ AUDM models Si and Vtir came out with different speedo needles to the JDM and S models. So they wont interchange.

Friend called Honda

And they argued with him that you can only get it in a package with needle, drivers for needle and tripmetre computer etc
For over $1000

Does anyone know what part number is needed?
