Im planning to put a dvd player in my dc2r, the problem is will it fit since the airconditioning/heater/aircon control is tilting forward, will the dvd player be sticking out a little when installed so theres space for the screen when it comes out?

you need to install it on the second pocket!!!
what ITRBoi said.
Needs to be placed in the 2nd din pocket as the heating console gets in the way.
I'm in the same boat as you, i have a two single din dvd unit system and i need to place the reader din on top of the viewer din, in order for it to be viewable at a good angle.
Make sure to becareful when shifting... don't want to rip a 2nd to 3rd and slip ya hand and smash the screen. ^^;

i thought so that it would be better off in the 2nd rack, but i wasnt sure coz it might not be properly viewable? have u got pics so i have a little idea, thanks,
Sorry mate, i don't have the dvd player in yet, currently ordered the bracket at supercheap and i should be getting it soon. I won't be installing the unit until the unit arrives.

Kenwood or the new Pioneer AVH-P6850DVD. 6 Disc DVD/MP3/DivX Player in a double din unit. It's the shit.

i just searched around a bit to find bit and pieces of posts i have done about this......u shoudl search .......
o yea dont worry about the wording i copired and pasted from 2 didderent posts so it wont make sence but u can try anyway and i do have pics on other computer of the dvd player being in the cigarette spot i willupoad them soon and show you =)
this is from the bottom din space covers the the a/c buttons a little still i ahve a few pics that i have picked up to show what i mean......
i vae been thinking fo the idea for a while now and i have seen many pics of different areas to put it i will post some pics now
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y63/K2sInteg98/miscpics004.jpg
as u can see it covers the a/c buttons fromt he bottom din player
if u wanna put up with it fine, also when up the dvd player should miss the buttons by a little bit, although most dvd players have a tilt function so it can be change even if it does........... finally with this set up as i dont know if you are driving manual or auto i will say both when taking the dvd from being inside the player to viewing automatic will hit the stick in park
i have heard that manual being in neutral doesn't hit but not positive but being in first and 3rd and reverve will hit ( although u hsouldn't really be in those gears when watching movie hahahahaha) ;) ;)
finally i had the thought of putting in a screen with a different type of screenn mmovement etc into the double din space with its own mounting harness
this is the type of dvd player i mean

and similar in car once installed

not a bad way i think as long as it is mounted properly to keep theives away
let me kno of ur thoughts cheers and i hope this helps a bit

looks very clean but i dont think it closes down and might prove to be defectable due toobstructing vison
but i not positive

also the dvd player off the unit i believe this is a custom moulded screen
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v79/starvinmrvn/Interior/DSC00838.jpg
this is another custom mould i think and not a position i really like i t thought i would post it for you none the less
one more thing that dvd player i showed u in the first thread can be bought on ebay for i think 600 not positive but if u go to www.brashimports.com.au thay have that dvd player for 800 not bad i think considering there is a kenwood one for abour 3g
