B16A VTEC Gearbox

tonight i was driving my civic in fifth gear on the highway and when it came time to change down the gears it got stuck in fifth gear and when i got it out of fifth gear the only gear i could get was third gear. i got home and i could get third and fourth but no other gears.
:eek: i need help please i have to drive to warwick on sunday and i need te car.:eek:

Hows your fluid levels???

Maybe you damaged your selector forks or what ever their called.

have you got a short shifter ??

no it is the standard shifter

could be your clutch failing, or badly out of adjustment. but you should be able to select a gear with the engine not running.

failing that yoru GB has problems.

interlocking detends playing up. shift forks bent.



can you select gears with the engine off ??

no i can't select gears even with the car turned off. the only gears i can select are third and fourth with the car on and off.
