ITR Gearbox...

.... is there any way to tell from the outside / model number what year it was made and if it has the 4.7 FD ??

Reason i ask is that i've come from owning an MR2 that shared the same model number throughout the years, so from the outside it was near impossible to tell if it had LSD or if it was from a later model..... is it the same story with Honda ?

I would imagine the gearbox number should tell you. That's probably the easiest if its bolted in and on the car.

I guess i should add the gearbox has been removed from the car and it's a private sale.

Yeah I am curious too, I know it has LSD if you can see straight through the diff but not the year and FD.
